In Bible times, 1 Talent was a unit of money worth about 6,000 denarii. 1 denarius was a common day’s wage for a worker. 👉 So, 1 Talent = about 20 years of wages for an average worker! That’s a lot of money — imagine what you’d earn if you worked full-time for 20 years straight!
In the parable, the master gave: 5 talents to one servant (about 100 years of wages!) 2 talents to another (about 40 years of wages) 1 talent to the last servant (about 20 years of wages)
Even the smallest gift — 1 talent — was still huge! This shows us that God trusts each of us with something valuable, even if it's different for each person. What matters most is what we do with what we’re given.
