Safety - lesson 5

This is PART 5 of a series of lessons that I have made up to teach a small number of children while their parents are doing a bible study for about an hour, so its very quick and easy but relates everything to key words that can relate pictures and common everyday things that children can relate to. We started this group by using the emergency fire drill procedure to impart an awareness of how to evacuate a building and what are the rules for the group, I let them make their own rules but I started with not being rude or impolite this made them responsible for their own behaviour, and all we have to do now is to remind ourselves of these rules. This fire drill was our first lesson mainly because I didn't know what I was going to teach but GOD has a better plan and since then we have kept the lessons going with key words and implementing games that have a lesson inside them. The ages range from 5-16 and I encourage the older ones to input, ask and relate how they interpret the key word in their lives, its very interactive for them and we constantly remind ourselves of the number one rule. IT'S FUN TO SEE THE LIGHT GO ON IN THEIR HEADS AS GOD REVEALS HIMSELF TO THEM. I don't seem to start with the scripture but relate it into the lesson. GODS WORD FITS IN SO WELL INTO THEIR LIVES AS YOU RELATE TO THE POINT THAT JESUS WAS A LITTLE CHILD ALSO. I make them aware that I will be assessing them at the end of the year only to reaffirm what THE WORD PICTURE brings back to their mind and help them relate it back to GOD. Remember to get their input and keep a good ear open to what GOD reveals you will be amazed.
