This unit helps the children see that when Jesus went back to heaven, He gave us the job of sharing God’s love with all those around us. The church, empowered by the Holy Spirit, is God’s hands and feet here on earth today. We can show God’s love to others by sharing what we have and caring for each other and ultimately by sharing the Good News of what God’s love, in Jesus, did to bring us back to Himself.
LESSONS
1. The Church Begins (Acts 1:1-14; 2:1-42; John 14:16) When Jesus left, God sent the Holy Spirit to be with us and help us to love each other.
2. The Church Shares (Acts 2:43-47; 4:32-37; 6:1-6) We can show God’s love by sharing what we have with those in need.
3. The Church Serves (Acts 16:1-15; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31) Everyone in the church has a job to do. To help each other and share God’s love.
4. The Church Grows (Acts 10:1-48) God wants us to share His love with everyone.
5. The Church Tells (Acts 16:11-40) Because we love others, we need to tell them that Jesus loves them.
