The Great Commission - making disciples

In this session, we will discover what is the Great Commission and what it means to God, what the scripture says about it, and our responsibility towards it. Each participant will learn what their role is in fulfilling Jesus’ command to go and make disciples.

What is God’s heart for people? We must be led by our love for God and His love for us.        God loves us. We love because God first loved us. This is what drives us to make disciples.        The process of making disciples must start with our love for both God and people, as obeying the Great Commandment serves as our motivation to engage in the Great Commission.

What does the Bible say about the Great Commission? The Great Commission is a commandment for all followers of Jesus to obey.        The Great Commission is given to every disciple of Jesus.        It has a clear message, the whole gospel, for every nation.

What is our response to the Great Commission? Participants are challenged to determine what they believe in and commit to obeying the Great Commission.        Salvation is available to all who believe. Regardless of their background people can only call on the Lord if they believe in Him, and they can only believe if they hear about Him.        We are called to implore others to be reconciled to God, acting as representatives of Christ's message of forgiveness and salvation.
