In this 90 minute training session, we’ll discover that although life can be hard, God’s people can bounce back when things get difficult.
What is resilience? Resilience means being able to handle tough situations well. What does resilience look like? It is our capacity to ‘bounce back’ after a setback. If dropped, an egg will break, whereas a ball will bounce. Resilience is being like a ball. Some of the reasons we give up are because of opposition, temptation, disaster, neglect, or lack of motivation. James 1:2-4, Romans 5:3-4, Proverbs 24:16
How can God help us be resilient? God helps and equips us to overcome hardships. Many times, He works through people to encourage us just when we need it. God, who began a good work in us, will complete it. He can use the setbacks and challenges in our lives to shape us and accomplish His will. This is good news! It is in and through Christ that we find resilience. 1 Corinthians 10:13, Psalm 34:17-19, Philippians 1:6
How can we develop resilience? Being resilient involves growing in qualities such as having a long-term purpose, an awareness of eternity, being teachable and adaptable, and welcoming support from others. This is possible when we are filled with the Spirit of God. Colossians 2:6,7,9,10, Galatians 5:22-26
