Wholeness of Spirit - Simplicity

In this 90 minute training session, we will discover the spiritual discipline of simplicity. We will learn what simplicity is, why it is important, and how we can put it into practice in our lives.

What is simplicity? Simplicity is the outward practical expression of our inward trust and security in Christ Jesus. It is a life that can bring peace and focus.        We are saved by grace and not by our works. We can simply come to God as we are. We don’t need anything but faith to be saved.        Simplicity means to fully focus on God and having trust and security in Christ. It means not wanting more than what He provides.        Many things can distract us from living a simple life that fully focuses on God. Ephesians 2:8-9, Psalm 23

Why is simplicity important? Jesus tells us that we must focus on God first.        No one can serve two masters. Serving more than one thing in life complicates it. It divides us.        Our main priority is the Kingdom of God. A life of simplicity is found here. Matthew 6:24, Matthew 6:33

How do we practice simplicity? We should not worry about anything but simply trust God.        To practice simplicity, we should focus on God and make Him the priority in all areas of our lives.        Putting this into practice takes our whole life. Luke 12:22-31
